Road to Emmaus video offer continues
As of Feb. 15, 130 WELS congregations have taken advantage of a special offer to purchase bulk quantities of the synod's Road to Emmaus movie. More than 21,000 copies of this 30-minute DVD have been purchased as part of WELS congregations' Easter outreach efforts.
An anonymous donor has made this offer possible so that congregations can give the DVDs to prospects this Easter. Road to Emmaus focuses on Jesus' conversation with two disciples as they traveled to Emmaus shortly after his death and resurrection. The conversation uses Scripture to show that Jesus is our Savior.
WELS congregations across the synod are responding to this donor's generous offer to complement their Easter outreach plans. Apostles, Billings, Mont., ordered 1,000 copies of the DVD.
Jon Zimpelmann, pastor at Apostles, says his congregation is planning to hand deliver the DVD to guests, visitors and prospects. "From the very beginning when the movie first came out, we were hoping to use it in some way, shape, or form as an outreach tool," he says. "In an entertainment hungry society, what better way to reach people with Jesus than with a high-quality DVD, which answers a lot of confusion people might have about the Bible and how it all flows to Jesus."The DVD is available in boxes of 100 for $150, plus shipping, but only through Mar. 1.
Northwestern Publishing House is handling all bulk orders, which can be placed by phone at 800-662-6022 or by e-mail, orders@nph.wels.net. Allow 3-4 weeks for process and delivery.
