Haiti in next WELS Connection
The next set of four editions of WELS Connection videos, featuring the efforts of volunteer nurses organized by WELS Committee on Relief in Haiti, was shipped to subscribing congregations last week.
The moving and emotional story of the volunteers' efforts to aid victims of the January earthquake is featured in the May edition. Among the nurses profiled is Pat Schlosser, a WELS member from Menomonie, Wis. "We feel like we want to come here and save the world," Schlosser says. "Of course, Jesus already did that. We want to help, we want to fix everything. We really can't. But what little bit we can, we want to do." To hear more, watch the full episode online.
The lineup for the following three months of WELS Connection includes:
- June: a unique mission in Texas, daughtered by a nearby mission-minded congregation
- July: Schools of Outreach and the blessings they bring to participating congregations
- August: efforts our Ministerial Education schools are taking to prepare students for ministry in a multicultural society
If your congregation has not yet subscribed to WELS Connection for 2010, it's not too late. Submit your request to Communication Services via the Contact Us form.
