The Sixth Commandment

Even in an age of e-mail, God's law still guides us. Follow this imaginary conversation between a granddaughter and grandfather that shows us how God's law applies to all generations.

The Sixth Commandment:
You shall not commit adultery.

What does this mean?
We should fear and love God that we lead a pure and decent life in words and actions, and that husband and wife love and honor each other.

Dear Grandpa,
I took your advice in your last e-mail and have tried to be a friend to Samantha, the cheerleader who had an abortion. Turns out she needed a friend. All her old friends deserted her, including her boyfriend. Hanging out with Samantha has made me more determined than ever to live by the Sixth Commandment. But that's hard. I even had to break up with Nicholas. Please promise not to tell Mom and Dad, but Nicholas was pressuring me to do stuff, stuff us forgiven people don't want to do. Grandpa, breaking up was terrible. I still love Nicholas. Will dating always be like this?
I love you.
