Hebrews 11 is often referred to as the "Heroes of faith" chapter. In it, the writer to the Hebrews defines faith and then highlights Old Testament individuals as examples. In a new Bible study, Pastor David Sternhagen relates these peoples' stories, especially focusing on their expectation of the coming of the Messiah.
Imagine how difficult it was for those who lived in the years before Christ to trust that he was coming. Today we look forward to another coming—that of Christ in the end times. Prof. John Brenner reminds us that only those with saving faith—trust in our Savior and God's promise of salvation—will one day join Jesus in heaven.
Faith in this promise of God can help us deal with our struggles in this world. Will Wendorff shares how a woman's faith in her ever-present Savior helped her deal with pregnancy, cancer, and a heart transplant, all within a three-year period.
May God's love shine through you this month as you share the promise of salvation through the Savior.
