Bulgaria
The Bulgarian Lutheran Church has two national pastors with another scheduled for ordination in 2011. Two men work as evangelists and two deconesses work in the capital city of Sofia. The church is also served by a regional mission counselor who assists with continuing training.

Albania
WELS no longer has a resident missionary in Albania. Two evangelists lead the daily activities of the congregation in Durres and the information center in Tirana. The shared regional mission counselor in Europe makes periodic training visits to Albania and oversees and advises a stateside mission liaison on a daily basis via e-mail. Work has begun on a distance learning program.
